Sejal Malik is an emerging environmental sustainability professional with specialized academic training and practical experience in Environmental Science, ESG (Environmental, Social & Governance), climate action, waste management, environmental compliance, and sustainability assessment. With a strong foundation in environmental governance and natural resource management, she combines research-driven analysis with practical field experience to support sustainable development initiatives.
A postgraduate in Environmental Science from Panjab University, Chandigarh, where she was recognized as a Merit Scholar, Sejal also holds a Bachelor’s Degree (Honours) in Forestry from Dr. Y.S. Parmar University of Horticulture & Forestry, where she received a Merit Award for academic excellence.
Her professional experience includes working with the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC), where she contributed to climate and sustainability documentation, including support for the State Action Plan on Climate Change (SAPCC 2.0). She gained valuable exposure to environmental regulations, climate policy frameworks, sustainability reporting, and inter-agency coordination.
Sejal has also worked on environmental research and documentation projects with Entertainment Plus Studios Pvt. Ltd., conducting sustainability-focused assessments, environmental research, and technical reporting. Additionally, she completed a sustainability research internship with the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Bangkok, where she assisted with environmental management studies and sustainability case analysis.
Her academic and project work spans diverse areas including plastic waste management, Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) compliance, carbon footprint assessment, biodiversity conservation, agroforestry systems, and climate resilience. Her Master’s dissertation focused on assessing consumer behavior and plastic waste generation patterns, providing insights aligned with sustainability and waste management policy frameworks.
