Guru Nanak Dev Global University (GNDGU) has announced that admissions are now open for the January 2027 batch of its Post Graduate Certificate in Global Punjabi Heritage Studies, offered through VIRSA – Global Punjabi Heritage Institute.
Hybrid Learning – Online + Offline
The program is designed for today’s learners through a flexible hybrid learning model, combining online instruction with in-person academic, practical, research, and professional activities.
Students will have access to learning opportunities through GNDGU’s designated locations in:

The program goes beyond conventional heritage education by connecting classroom learning with real-world opportunities. During Year 2, eligible students can participate in work-integrated learning, internships, research projects, institutional assignments, entrepreneurship, cultural projects, and professional placements related to their specialization.
The objective is for students to graduate with more than a certificate—with knowledge, practical experience, professional skills, portfolios, networks, and pathways toward employment or entrepreneurship.
Five Schools. One Global Heritage.
Students begin with the VIRSA Core and then choose one of five specialization pathways:
- School of Culture – Punjabi Culture, Literature & Performing Arts
- School of Land – Punjab Civilization, Land & Sustainability
- School of People – Global Punjabi, Diaspora & Community Studies
- School of Spirit – Punjabi Struggles, Leadership & Seva
- School of Future – Digital Heritage, AI & Cultural Innovation
The program connects traditional Punjabi knowledge with contemporary fields including digital humanities, artificial intelligence, sustainability, cultural entrepreneurship, research, media, community development, and heritage technology.
