50% Scholarships Announced for Undergraduate and Postgraduate Semiconductor Programs Through Global University Partnerships

Chandigarh, Punjab | July 19, 2026

Guru Nanak Global Foundation (GNGF), in collaboration with Roar 4 Change, today announced the launch of the Saheli Semiconductor Scholars Initiative, a global education and workforce development program that aims to empower 1,000 high school girls by preparing them for careers in the semiconductor industry.

Through strategic partnerships with leading universities and academic institutions worldwide, the initiative will provide eligible students with pathways into Undergraduate (UG) and Postgraduate (PG) degree programs focused on semiconductor engineering, chip design, advanced manufacturing, electronics, artificial intelligence, and related technologies.

As part of this landmark initiative, every eligible student enrolled in the semiconductor programs through partner universities will receive a minimum of 50% scholarship support, significantly reducing financial barriers and enabling talented young women from diverse backgrounds to pursue careers in one of the world’s fastest-growing industries.

The program will be available to girls globally under the Saheli initiative, creating an international network of future innovators, researchers, entrepreneurs, and technology leaders.

In addition to scholarships, the initiative will provide participants with:

  • Career awareness and mentoring from industry leaders.
  • University admission guidance.
  • Leadership and personal development programs.
  • Industry internships and research opportunities through partner organizations.
  • Global networking and innovation platforms.
  • Support for entrepreneurship and semiconductor startups.

The Saheli initiative was established to create meaningful educational opportunities for girls while addressing the growing global demand for skilled semiconductor talent. By connecting education, industry, philanthropy, and government, the initiative seeks to build a sustainable pipeline of women leaders in advanced technology.

Quote from Baljit Singh, Chairman, Guru Nanak Global Foundation

“The semiconductor industry will define the future of every nation. If we truly want an inclusive future, we must ensure our daughters are part of building it. Through the Saheli Semiconductor Scholars Initiative, we are not simply offering scholarships; we are opening doors to innovation, leadership, and economic opportunity. Every girl deserves the chance to design the technologies that will shape tomorrow. Together with our university partners and Roar 4 Change, we are committed to nurturing the next generation of global semiconductor leaders.”

The organizations invite universities, semiconductor companies, research institutions, governments, philanthropists, and community leaders to join this global movement to educate and empower young women for the semiconductor economy.
