The Board of Directors of Guru Nanak Global Foundation Inc., the founding and sponsoring entity of Guru Nanak Dev Global University (GNDGU), today unanimously adopted Resolution No. GNGF/2026-01/01, solidifying long-term governance, leadership continuity, and mission-aligned investment decisions to support GNDGU’s transformative vision for global education.
Key provisions of the resolution include:
- Permanent Chairmanship — Baljit Singh, Founding Member and visionary leader of GNDGU, has been appointed Permanent Chairman of the Foundation, effective immediately, to serve for the duration of his natural life or until voluntary resignation or permanent incapacity.
- Succession Planning — The Board has authorized and approved Baljit Singh’s designation of his daughter, Sifti Kaur, as Permanent Successor to the Chairmanship. Upon any vacancy, she will automatically assume the role without further Board action.
- Single-Signature Authority — During his tenure, Baljit Singh is granted sole authority to execute all resolutions, contracts, agreements, and documents on behalf of the Foundation, provided they remain consistent with its charitable purpose.
- Compensation Commitment — Baljit Singh will receive NO salary or personal financial benefit from the Foundation while actively serving as Chairman and earning income from external sources.
- Future Salary Provision — Once GNDGU achieves substantial operational revenue sufficient to support its programs independently, the Board will review and set an appropriate salary for the Chairman, with a minimum as set by resolution and the board, subject to the University’s financial sustainability and annual Board approval.
- Strategic Ownership — The Foundation is authorized to acquire and hold 51% ownership interest in PurePlanet Global Ventures LLC, a Delaware-based for-profit entity established to commercialize innovative technologies, media, and communication platforms inspired by GNDGU’s research and mission. This structure ensures mission alignment while enabling commercial opportunities and sustainable returns to support the Foundation’s charitable objectives.
These resolutions reflect the Board’s confidence in Baljit Singh’s lifelong dedication to ethical leadership, seva, and the realization of GNDGU as a world-class, values-driven university that guarantees 100% employability, affordable education, and meaningful societal impact.
