Amritsar to Host “People Power – Heroes Rising” SDG Summit on December 9, 2026

Khalsa College, Amritsar and Guru Nanak Global Foundation (GNGF) (India) have officially entered a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate for the prestigious PurePlanet Global Conference 2026, a landmark international movement focused on accelerating action towards the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) across Punjab.
Under the agreement, Khalsa College, Amritsar will serve as the Official Host Institution – Amritsar Chapter for a major conference segment scheduled on 9th December 2026 at its historic campus in Amritsar, Punjab.
The conference session at Khalsa College will be organized under the theme:
“People Power – Heroes Rising (SDGs 1–5, 10)”
The event will bring together global thought leaders, educators, researchers, celebrities, students, sustainability advocates, and policymakers to discuss pressing social and developmental challenges related to poverty, education, gender equality, inequality, and human empowerment.
The Pure Planet Global Conference 2026 is envisioned as a transformative 9-day international platform from 5th to 13th December 2026, spanning multiple venues across Punjab. The initiative aims to blend academic excellence, cultural energy, sustainability innovation, and youth leadership into a global movement for positive impact.
The conference across 4 locations is expected to attract more than 5,000 in-person participants along with a substantial worldwide audience through international broadcasting, digital streaming, and media partnerships.
As part of the collaboration, the Khalsa College campus event will include:
- Academic and SDG-focused keynote sessions
- Celebrity and global leadership addresses
- Student-led research presentations
- Panel discussions and interdisciplinary dialogues
- Cultural performances and artistic showcases
- International live broadcasting and digital engagement
GNGF will serve as the Lead Organizer for the conference, overseeing program design, global partnerships, media outreach, production, speaker engagement, and sustainability integration.
Khalsa College will provide institutional infrastructure and on-ground coordination support, including auditorium facilities, volunteer deployment, cultural programming, and local logistics coordination.
